Christmas Is Getting Closer

This past weekend saw me get my Christmas tree up. Now see it was an adventure because I had a particular theme: black & silver. I know they’re not your usual Christmas colors, but I figure for my first one on my own I’d go with my favorite color. Now I’ve seen black ornaments in previous years, but for some reason I could really find what I wanted. It took: 4 trips to 3 different Targets, 3 trips to 2 different K-marts, a trip to Wal-mart, and various stops to discount/dollar stores over 2 days to end up with this:
The bow was lovingly done by my girlfriend, Jo. I like how the tree came out. It ended up being black, silver, graphite, and white.
This year for Christmas, I will be hosting the family and doing most of the main cooking. This is the first time doing this and I’m looking forward to it. It will be interesting as it will be the first time my father will be in my place (I have MAJOR issues with him). I wonder what he’s going to say about the place, not that I will take it to heart. I will enjoy the holiday and the food.
Once Christmas is done, time to get ready for 2010, my birthday . . . and pitchers and catchers!
